No one will instantly understand how complex the DAS mechanics of NES is or how hard it is to hypertap consistently. Almost no one will understand the determination to gather years of experience to build a versatile playfield or tune the aggression of you gameplay to match the potential of your opponent. Most people will Play Classic Tetris not even understand the scoring rules and just accept everyone going for Tetris without the commentator explaining. As for watching guideline games, I find it entertaining later into the matches as players are forced into playing offence and defence at the same time which can create very interesting scenarios.

It’s something I really appreciate about “Tetris Effect” — the game uses the meditative focus required for “Tetris” to intentionally achieve meditative focus in players.
